Children’s Religious Education (RE)
All children are precious to us. Their religious education is an important part of our faith. We believe in a lively exchange of ideas geared to every stage of growth.
We teach our children to love, appreciate and value:
- Every individual
- World religions
- Judeo-Christian heritage
- Principles of moral judgment

2009-2010 programs:
SPEAKING OF FAITH, a monthly gathering to discuss issues of the day. We heard about a wonderful NPR program by Krista Tippett called “Speaking of Faith,” and we’ve decided to use it as one of BUUF’s Adult RE programs. Krista Tippett’s shows are available to listen to at no charge at speakingoffaith.org and I encourage all of you to explore the site and see if you’re interested in participating in our discussion group. Her shows cover a wide range of topics from religions around the globe to faith as it relates to autism, children, family, marriage and divorce, homosexuality, yoga, stress, Darwin, Einstein, war, and the death penalty (to name a few!). We will try to schedule our programs at least a month in advance in case there is one topic you are particularly interested in --- you don’t have to come every week, if there’s only one program of interest to you, just come that week!
See our NEWSLETTER or our CALENDAR for the schedule.
We currently have a class of 4th-6th graders who are following the Amazing Grace session from the UUA's Tapestry of Faith religious education program. The classes are taught by a pair of adult volunteers from our fellowship each week. The students begin the morning participating in our Sunday service (at 10:30 a.m.) and then are sung to class.
R-E can always use volunteers! To enroll your children, contact our Director of Religious Education.
