The celebration of our 50th anniversary did not go off without a hitch, but still it was a delight.

Eric Scott shared original piano and guitar compositions as we feasted, Gloria Weberg and other BUUF thespians presented a skit that was both moving and humorous, and Kate Fuller shared comments about the founding of the church, and about Marv.  Our DRE, Dave Sarra shared some thoughts about our future, and Board president Gary Cook shared some thoughts about what he loves about BUUF.  Gretchen Ohmann donated T-shirts commemorating the event (contact her if you didn’t get yours), as well as a tote bag listing BUUF’s founders, which Gretchen presented to Kate.  Gretchen is making a larger portrayal of the tote bag design which she will contribute to the Fellowship as a wall-hanging.

Beth and Evan had the new pulpit in place, which they obtained from retired UU minister Laurie Proctor, and which Evan refurbished. While there were many comments about the orange velvet covering the top of the pulpit, it seemed that most people liked the beautiful wood and the inlaid design in the wood, and Beth, herself, loves the larger size.

When the formal program was over, a number of folks helped clean up while a number of others danced to the DJ skills of Emily Hecht.

Thanks to all of you who contributed to the effort, helped with the work, and shared in the fellowship of this special evening. And, not to be premature, but mark your calendars:  May of 2059 will be our centennial celebration, and we already have a promise from Kate and Marv’s son, Jim Fuller, that he’ll be there! Yaay!
