Safe Congregation: The Westminster Unitarian Church policy may provide a basis for foundation of our policy. There is some verbiage that could be tweaked for a statement that we could put in the packet for new members that would let them know that we have a policy and procedure and tells them where to access it if they are interested in knowing more. Anyone who volunteers for the RE program would have a background check. Church mutual has a list of items to be done for a background check and a suggestion for a service. Dave had arranged for RE Director to be checked out. This could be one of the duties of the administrators. It will cost about $100 a person. Some can be done online, at the courthouse, and fingerprinting can be done at Hospice at Home. Janice volunteered to individualize the policy for BUUF. It was suggested that we take this year to put the whole policy and procedure together and then start the new year with everything in place and background checks that are necessary could be done over the summer. She will provide an update next month. Lisa will look into the costs of the different parts.
